Fun with Stamp of the Month

March's stamp of the month is beautiful and fun!  And perfect for any upcoming spring weddings..

Supplies needed:

CTMH March stamp of the month or a stamp set like this: Love Blooms
For Always paper pack
Colonial White cardstock
Black shimmer trim
Pink glitter gems
Wooden flourishes
Cashmere ink pad
Hollyhock ink pad
Blush ink pad
adhesive
liquid glass
pop tape

The card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  The black piece of paper is from the For Always pack and is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.  For the flourishes I adhered them with liquid glass.  After stamping the flowers and cutting them out I edged them with the cashmere ink.  To glue them to the card, I used adhesive for the parts that are on top of the wooden flourishes and pop tape for the parts on the card.  The black glitter trim is just on the top and bottom edge of the black square.

Happy stamping!

Go Green!!

As a scrapbooker/ stamper there is one thing I always aim for:  using what I have.  Yes I love getting new papers (and then smelling them- ahhh the smell of fresh scrapbook paper!) and products but in order to "justify" it I try to use what I have so that I'm not collecting, I'm replacing (and therefore my husband can't say anything- ha!)

One great way to use old supplies is to change them up a bit with some stamping.  Here is a great video showing you how to use your stamps to extend their use and help you use all those leftover papers- or just create something that is uniquely you!

Stamp of the Month Fun

The stamp of the month is really cute! I had a lot of fun making these cards.

I have a few of the new alcohol based markers so I thought I'd try them out.  I really like the color and how it doesn't shred the paper when you color it.  I realize thought I need to get the blending pen so I can blend better!  I don't have a lot of colors so I had to use my old markers with the blending pen for those for the blue colors.  I also used my new pigment stamp pads which was fun- I can't wait to try them on some darker paper to see them pop!

 Supplies Used:
September Stamp of the Month
Colonial White cardstock
Cocoa cardstock
Cricut Art Philosophy (for the tag)
Cocoa pigment ink pad
Desert Sand ink pad
Autumn Terracota markers
Olive markers
Ruby markers
Honey markers
Desert Sand marker (old one)
Black marker (old one)
Chocolate marker (old one)
paper leaves (retired)
hemp
liquid glass
blending pen

I stamped the images and colored them with the markers.  Then I embossed the cardstock and sanded it.  I distressed the  tag with Desert Sand ink and wrote in my own "Fall Favorites".  I wrapped the hemp around the card and tied the tag to it.  Then I tied the leaves to the hemp and glued the acorns (stamped and then cut out and glued together) on top.  To spiral the hemp, I put some liquid glass along the fiber and wrapped in around a round wooden stick I had (bigger than a skewer but smaller than a pencil) held it for about a minute then carefully slid it off the stick.  Wa-la!

 Supplies Used:
September Stamp of the Month
Colonial White cardstock
Dakota paper pack
Sunset cardstock
Twilight ink pad
Cocoa pigment ink pad
Desert Sand ink pad
Autumn Terracota markers
Olive markers
Ruby markers
Honey markers Desert Sand marker (old one)
barn red marker (old one)
outdoor deinum marker (old one)
twilight marker (old one)
hemp
liquid glass
pop dots
blending pen
buttons

So I stamped and colored with the markers.  For the overalls I used my blending pen and the twilight ink pad: you squeeze the ink pad before opening then open, use the pen to pick up the ink on the inside lid of the ink pad and draw with it on your paper.  For the burlap, you can use THIS, but I just so happened to have some burlap so I used it (you can get big burlap bags at Theisen's for $1).  I used the liquid glass to glue the buttons and burlap on and then also to glue the paper to the burlap.  I really like how this turned out- I might just give this one to myself :)
