Ariana Scrapbooking

I just love this gorgeous paper!  I am in a family with all boys and even though I might not be able to use it with most of my pictures of them digging in the dirt or wrestling on the floor, I do manage to get some floral action in there somewhere.  And I couldn't pass up the paper :)

For one of our March workshops we are going to use this paper, along with the pink glitter paper, to make a 2-page layout and card.  You'll love the look!  The cost is $8 or FREE if you order $25 in product.  It will be held Tuesday March 18th at either 10am or 6:30pm (you pick!).  Please RSVP by March 8th.

My Favorite Things

I really, really enjoy papercrafting.  Like, maybe a little too much (can that even be possible?).  I love looking at photographs which is probably one of the main reasons I love to scrapbook so much.  To help celebrate my favorite things I am doing a workshop: "A Few Of My Favorite Things" Layout.

Here it is:

This layout is perfect for instagram pictures if you're into that.  But if not I'll teach you the tricks to multi-sized photos for cheap!  Trust me, you'll thank me!

We'll learn some new techniques for diy scrapbooking and you will have a great 2-page layout to showcase YOUR favorite things!!

So get those cameras out and start shooting some pictures to get ready for this workshop!  It will cost $8 for 2 pages and all you will need to bring is adhesive and glue dots.

More Digi

So, when I posted earlier that I bought some layouts from Studio J, I only showed 2 layouts.  But I made more!  Here is what I made with the Custom Collections- there are a TON of them including retired papers and papers exclusive to Studio J. (I only made 3, but here are 2 of them)

These were really fun because not only can you change the color, you can change the paper and add "stickers" and other fun embellishments.  I also learned a trick to use 2 photo spots for one picture like I did in the Halloween layout (the pictures on the left side- there are supposed to be 6 of them).  You add the same picture to both spots next to each other and enlarge the pictures to about 117% (you may have to fiddle around with the sizes).  You scoot the pictures so they match up and then zoom in to make sure the lines match.  Neat trick!

Bottle Caps

I love bottle caps.  In fact, when I was little I collected bottle caps.  Back in those days soda came in bottles, so collecting bottle caps was fairly easy.  I envied Bert from Sesame Street with his collection of bottle caps and wondered if I wrote some fan mail if he would send me some of his collection.  At the local science center there was a huge magnet in a bin with thousands of bottle caps and I loved running my hands through the piles of metal lids.

Close To My Heart must know I love bottle caps because they sell them now:

 

They go along with the Cruisin' paper pack.  And although they don't still smell slightly like diet coke, they are just as fun!  

Not only can you use them on your layouts:

 

You can use them for the Cruisin' Car Game I posted earlier:

 

And for some more fun you can make them into jewelery!

I punched a hole in the bottle cap with my crop-a-dile

You cut/ punch a 1" circle to put inside the cap and glue it in.  Then I cut a flower using the cricut art philosophy cartridge at 3/4" and glued it in.  I added a jeweled flower and then made sure my hole went through the paper too.

Then I added some liquid glass to seal it all in.  I used some bakers twine to make the necklace.

 You can paint over the saying on the bottle cap using the pearl paint and some re-inker.  Or you can cut another 1" circle and glue it to the front with your design on it.  I tried stamping- those 1" hostess stamps are the perfect size- but the liquid glass makes it bleed.  You'll have to use staz-on ink I think or just don't add the liquid glass.
